Saturday Birdwatching at Bhimdhunga Area
February 24, 2007
Four FOB Members arrived at Ramkot at 7:45 as a part of Saturday Birdwatching. It was very hard to see anything because of the fog, so spent about 30 minutes in a FOB’s regular tea stall in Ramkot. The birding route was Ramkot - Bhimdhunga Bus Stop – Bhimdhunga Bhanjyang – Bhimdhunga – Ramkot. There was a nice stall in Bhimdhunga Bhanjyang where birders had tea and local tarkari. Actual birding began only at 9:15 after tea because of fog. It was really good birdwatching with the record of 43 species. The bird of the day was Barred-Cukoo Dove, sitting on a tree.It was seen very closely but could not be pictured due to the problem with camera and this bird was seen first time for all four birders.
